The woman behind Sol & Sōma
A little about me.
Hi, I’m D’Arcy, an Australian currently calling the Pacific coast of Costa Rica home.
I’ve always been drawn to the natural world, exploring new places and experiences that make me feel truly alive.
My journey first brought me to Costa Rica through my love of wildlife, nature and yoga. Somewhere along the way, I fell in love, and what began as a chapter of exploration became a spontaneous decision to follow my heart and build a life here.
From working with wildlife to discovering yoga and navigating life in a new country, my journey has been anything but linear, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
A life shaped by nature & curiosity.
Before teaching yoga, I spent years working with and studying wildlife, from caring for parrots in Australia to conservation and rehabilitation study in Namibia.
With a background in Animal Ecology, my love for the natural world has always been a big part of who I am. It’s taken me to incredible places, introduced me to different ways of living and shaped how I see the world.
Travel, nature and the people I’ve met along the way have taught me so much about curiosity, connection and being open to experiences outside of what feels familiar.
Finding my way through movement.
Yoga has become an important part of my life, not only as a physical practice, but as a way to reconnect with myself both on and off the mat.
As a teacher, I love creating space for people to explore movement, build confidence in their bodies and enjoy the process without feeling the need to get everything right.
My teaching draws mostly from Vinyasa, Hatha, and mobility with an emphasis on breath, awareness and curiosity in your own body.
The beginning of Sol & Sōma.
Sol & Sōma is an evolving expression of so many things I love: nature, movement, creativity, connection and the experience of being alive.
It began with a desire to bring these parts of my life together and create something that could grow beyond the yoga mat.
Through classes, online experiences and, eventually, retreats and gatherings, I hope to create opportunities for women to connect with themselves, with each other and with the world around them.
I’m still discovering what Sol & Sōma will become, and I’m excited to share that evolution with you.
Thank you for being here.
